You must see the 'Virgen de la Peña'(Rock Virgin) little church and go upstairs to the marvelous viewpoint...

I first visited Mijas two years ago, and, then, again in September of '07. On the original visit, I purchased some pottery from Luis and Lolly Dominguez at their shop and had so many compliments on it when I returned that I purchased more on my second trip for myself, family members and friends. When the pottery arrived, not one piece was broken. We think of Mijas every time we use the colorful pottery, and it inspires us to try our hand at the delicious Spanish cuisine we experienced while visiting! Luis guided us to the famous tiled street just a block away from their shop that we have seen on so many Spanish calendars and made arrangements for us to have dinner at an excellent restaurant that we might not have found on our own. Their friendly and sincere attention to visitors in your city made us want to come back again and again. Their shop, in our opinion, is a "must stop" for visitors to your beautiful city.

Beautiful town with very friendly people. We have been going there 5 or 6 years and have come to know many of the shopkeepers. The small bistro called Mijas Cafe is worth a visit for lovely fresh food. Clive & Denise who run the cafe are great. Disart is a shop at the top of the steps from the square and sells exquisite ornaments and jewellery. I would recommend a visit today - very different from our first visit in 1983!

Just got back from 2 weeks in Mijas had a great time tho' it was blisteringly hot ( 47 C one day!!) Haven't seen a cloud for two weeks but raining back in UK now! Great restaurants and shops and a really good freindly place to wander or watch the world go by. Just two recommendations the WOK chinese down towards the coast is awesome freshly cooked fresh ingredients as much as you like for 11 euros, the prawns are to die for! And a big mention to Tickled Pink a great change from the shops that sell similar stuff they have a wonderful collection of jewellery and ornaments etc at very reasonably prices the magnetic healling jewellrey is beautiful and the Betty Boop collections are huge in Spain. The owners Mark and Suzie are helpful and friendly simply a must visit shop and their sister shop Run By Angels is worth a trip for the jewellry sets and for Marks Angel card and Flower readings!! ( and his wacky sense of humour!!)

Hi there, We have been visiting Mijas every year from 1986 to 2007, and we will be visiting again during September 2008. We stay at the Hotel Pez Espada at Torremolinos which we think is super. We rent a car for two weeks to visit various towns and cities throughout Andalucia. We just love Mijas and during our two week vacations we always visit at least two times, sometimes three times, perhaps have a meal, look at all the shops and take in the views of the countryside. The atmosphere of the location is quite unforgettable, and when we return to our hometown at London, UK we feel so refreshed after our visit to Spain and Mijas that we look so forward to the following year. We hope that we can continue this procedure for many years yet as Spain is wonderful, the climate is super, the people quite friendly.

I lived in southern Spain from 1995-98 and my wife and I just fell in love with Mijas and the surrounding little white washed town of Costa del Sol. Mijas was our favorite. Absolutely beautiful views of the coastline from almost the entire town of Mijas. Great little gift shops and restaurants. We have not been back since 2001 but the memories will never leave.

I have some great paintings from Rem's Galeria in Mijas, Spain. They are pretty old, signed "rem's". Does anyone know anything about the artist?

Just spent two weeks in this beautiful little village. Not a place to forget easily, as well as a very large selection for daytime shopping and relaxing in one of the many terraces, we found a few night bars that complement the village superbly, out of those, Copas Bar must be the best, with its fabulous music, and its fantastic and ever funny host, Juan. A must!!
