Fisherman's Bastion, also known as 'The Halaszbastya' lies in Budapest, Hungary on the famous Castle Hill. A statue of the great king, Stephen I of Hungary, stands right outside the Bastion. Frigyes Schulek is the famous Hungarian architect who designed this lovely terrace. The structure incorporates elements from neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque styles of architecture. According to a legend, the Bastion was used as defensive place by the fishermen to guard the Castle Hill. The most characteristic features of this structure are are the beautiful turrets and pale, white stones. The best time to visit this monument would be a warm, sunny day when you could stroll around and take in the magnificent city views.
