Stretched over miles and miles of water is Oresund Bridge. This cable-stayed bridge not only links Sweden and Denmark but also connects many parts of Western and Central Europe. By the year 1995, the construction of the bridge had begun and while it was completed in 1999, it was not until 2000 that the bridge was officially opened. To commemorate this occasion the Danish Queen and the Swedish King hosted the celebrations and the ceremony. This enduring structure has been built in one the immensely popular architectural style of building bridges, the Dissing+Weitling style. The bridge offers easy access with several toll pass options to its approximate 60,000 daily users for whom its a regular means of transportation.
