great place for tapas in Barcelona. Not touristy, has a laidback ambience. hopefully, el xampanyet continues to retain its character.

This was the place I loved the most when in Barcelona. The owner and his wife are very cheerful people, we managed to understand each other very well though we didn't speak Spanish nor Catalan. Excellent home-made tapas and, most of all, excellent cava; ideal for a quick lunch after visiting Picasso Museum.
